How the score is calculated

The calculator multiplies your reported app-switch and project-switch frequency by research-based recovery costs, applies a penalty for a large tool stack and for heavy notification volume, then caps the result at 80% of the deep-work hours you said you intend — so the estimate stays realistic — before converting lost hours to money using your hourly value.

How long does it really take to refocus after an interruption?
